I saw the Shokz OpenFit Pro open-ear headphones earlier this year and couldn't justify the price.
When I started my new job 15 years ago, with my first pay packet I bought myself two tech devices, a Kindle and a pair of Bose headphones. So here we are 15 years later and at the end of last year I got a reward for a completed project which I used to by myself a Kindle Scribe, and this week I got a reward for 15 years service which I've spent on these amazing headphones.
Headphone technology has come a long way in the past 15 years. While noise cancelling was a thing back in 2011 it was still very expensive and the Bose headphones I could afford at the time didn't have the feature. My Bose, which I still have and use, are traditional headphones with a cable, headband and they rest on the ear.
In 2024 I purchased my first bone conduction headphones. While the technology never clamed to give a broad range of sound the comfort of true open ear and the ability to still hear ambient sounds certainly made these headphones ideal for casual listening.
The Shokz OpenFit Pro are not bone conductive. The small driver units sit on your ears, with no cushion and without going deep into your ears. They have the comfort "open-ear" style that the bone conductive headsets give you but with much better sound quality.
The technology now allows noise reduction. Not full on noise cancelling but certainly good enough to reduce the sound of the rain on the window or the fan sat behind me.

Today was a good day!
First thing, I got today's Wordle first try! OK unless you cheat it's pure luck but still, woo.
Picked up rental van from local vendor and drove down to Exeter to pick up Maia from uni.
As I reversed onto the drive the Red Arrows flew over! I told Jude that she needn't have arranged for such a display.
Disassembled a desk, packed the van and moved stuff to a garage belonging to one of Maia's friends.
Packed the remainder of Maia's items in the van and drove home.
Unpacked the van, took it back to the rental place then walked home.

"It's co-pilot not auto-pilot"
I'm training on M365 Co-Pilot and what the courses are all hammering home is that Co-Pilot content can be inaccurate and wrong and ultimately you are responsible for the finished result.
It's crazy that while students are being told they can't use AI the working world is having it rammed down our throats.
I use AI tools and agree that they can certainly improve productivity but again we're looking at how to manage a flood of incoming data rather than stopping to ask, "am I the appropriate person to be getting all this data in the first place and how can AI help direct this data correctly?"

Went with Lance and Kate to see The Mandalorian And Grogo at the Odeon in Guildford.
The film was OK, as other's have said it was a film length TV episode.
There were a lot of references to characters, vehicles and creatures from the rest of the franchise. I have some figures from the 80s which were previously only background characters.

Sad fact, as delivery drivers are so bad with reading labels and have to take pictures of where they've left the parcels I've now learned what many of the houses in my area that have our door number look like and can recognise them for retrieving (and re-delivering) parcels!

Now Logging Torchwood Voltage
I thought that the Meshtastic node logged voltage to the grid by default but apparently not. I've now turned the logging on and will be creating pages to display the stats on here.
