Wasting Energy To Plant A Tree?

It says 200 days to complete, in this same time I've "planted" 7 trees in the same time using the Conqueror Challenge system despite not putting as much effort into the challenges this year as I should have.

This system appears to reward you for going to the same sites and doing the same searches over and over again, not especially educational.

If I can keep unbroken visits to the site it's possible that I could "plant" trees quicker but missing a single day has a huge impact on the points roll over.
