If you've been wondering why I like this Christmas present you've finally reached the start of what is the genius of this amazing gift.

Maia enjoys annotating books, this isn't just something she does for study. She'll often have multiple copies of books so that she can keep a pristine version and have an annotated version.

Having a Maia original really did make me smile.

Maia's Note: "He said the way my blue eyes shined put those Georgia stars to shame that night." This is the first lin of Tim McGraw and what I find funny is that 'stars' refers to actual stars in the sky but it could also be read as pop music - stars. Taylor will go on to put every star to shame because sh is the most popular of the stars.

Maia's Note: The idea first came to her in freshman math class; she was dating a senior (which is disturbing) and wanted to memorialise their relationship because she could feel a break-up coming (he was leaving for college) SHE WAS 15!

Thankfully this fact has given me excuse to play Taylor's song and stop listening to James Taylor.
