Crash Bang Wallop
It finally happened, my Insta360 OneX took a dive while attached to the monopod and the thread in the bottom of the camera snapped.
It was a design floor in that the base to the camera has holes in for ventilation and to insert the SD card, both features weakening the plate.
After a back and forth conversation with Insta360 they can't repair the camera but have offered to upgrade it to the One X2 for £27, plus return postage and the cost of the bits of the camera that I had not originally sent. In total it comes to £75.
While the optics of the X2 are no different to the OneX the overall design and control interface have been improved.
