The Times They Are A Changing
Meta so determined that the metaverse is the place to be that they change their name and lose billions in value, Twitter axes staff after purchase by eccentric billionaire, the Internet is heading for quite a change!
As people leave Facebook (owned by Meta) to use Instagram (owned by Meta) and WhatsApp (owned by Meta) what are the actual alternatives? What are the problems with jumping a sinking ship?
With many not liking the rumblings of what Musk is going to do with Twitter, will a flurry of start ups take it's place?
If the metaverse is indeed the future will any of the current systems become the de-facto? Can the metaverse even work if we can't seamlessly hop from one virtual location to another regardless of it's origin and regardless of who's VR goggles we're wearing?
Is Mr Zuckerberg wanting the metaverse but only on Meta? Would the monopolies commissions across the world even allow this?
What do you and I want from social media and VR? What do corporations want from social media and VR? What does the law want from social media and VR?
Is now the time for my pocket, anitsocial network?
This is a lot of questions!
