Walking the Thames, from Greenwich to Waterloo
Lance and I walked from Greenwich to Waterloo.

The weather forcast suggested a 40% chance of thunderstorms but we ended up with a warm, dry day.
We took the train in to Waterloo. This was the first time I'd tried using paperless tickets to mixed result. Some barriers wouldn't read the QR codes on the tickets but the "revenue insurance agents" on the trains had no problems. The technology can only get better.
Once at Waterloo we took the Jubilee line to Canary Wharf then the DLR down to Greenwhich, Cutty Sark.

While at Canary Wharf we saw runners in "The Big Half" London half marathon and when we got to Greenwhich we saw the finish line.
We crossed under the river via the Greenwich foot tunnel.
Once on the Isle of Dogs we again encounterd the half marathon runners. With much of the Thames path being private land or industrial we couldn't follow it too closely at this point.

The A13 was closed to traffic for the half marathon. We followed the runners to King Edward Memorial Park then along Wapping Wall, down through Wapping and on to St. Katharine Docks Marina.
We stopped at the marina to watch as a couple of yaughts passed under the raised bridge then we walked on to Tower Bridge where we stopped to eat our lunch.
After lunch we passed The Tower Of London and crossed London Bridge, finishing our walk along the South Bank.
