I May Have Got Side Tracked (Surprise, Surprise)
Mid way through migrating DazDigs to a no-sql format I may have gotten a little side tracked.
As my previous posts showed I upgraded the storage on the Steam Deck and from that then upgraded the storage on the Raspberry Pi, Daz Digs server. While the Steam Deck is now back up and fully operational the Pi is still running off the SD card for now, pending a complete re-build when the no-sql project completes.
These however are just two small projects that took an evening to complete both.
My main project for the past couple of weeks has been to get a local AI model to caption the images I have stored on my local NAS.
I've tried various programs and services for managing pictures, different systems having different benefits and problems, the main problem with all of them being that I'm at the whim of the system's developers. I kept my images on Flickr for many years but they started charging for their service. Some of the tools I've tried have been bad at keeping a backup of the data so when changes happen to the system all tags and descriptions get lost. Sure, there's a warning about the data will be lost but not much more you can do about it! Until recently the missing piece has been search. Big systems have had the AI ability to auto-generate tags for years, it's only with local LLM models that finally I'm able to get local search working.
